3- 8” GM racing torque converters
All three are 8” diameter converters configured for a ¼” motor plate all have a turbo input splines and a bearing installed to support the outboard end of the input shaft, so you won’t need to install the bushing in the pump if you have a power glide. They will fit a power glide with turbo input shaft or a turbo 350/400. They also feature anti ballooning plates with 7/16 “ mounting holes. They all stalled between 5500-5700 behind a 700 HP 427 big block Chevy. I think they would also work well behind a small block too. · 8” Power Glide Performance features the small GM 168 tooth flex plate bolt pattern and has approximately 200 passes on it. $200 (+ shipping) · 8” Coan converter features the larger GM 168 tooth flex plate bolt pattern and has approximately 100 passes on it. $300 (+ shipping) · 8” Transmission-Specialties converter is a spragless design, features the larger GM 168 tooth flex plate bolt pattern and has approximately 100 passes on it. $400 (+ shipping) All three worked well in my super comp dragster but I built a 540 for it and I now used a tighter/larger (9”) converter and therefore no longer need these.
