Default Dust bowl in Houston at Royal Purple Nats.

I am hoping that you guys that got to pit on the south side of the back road realize how lucky ya'll were. We were on the north side of it and it was looking pretty good the one and only time the water truck came and watered those real nice shell roads, the only two shell roads there. We kept hoping and waiting for a water truck that would never return. Man couldn't ya'll see the dust clouds evertime a car got called to the lanes or when someones kids were riding golf carts all around back there just to make dust. I know that times are hard and the Angels are haveing a hard time with their multi-million dollar road construction company and the Royal Purple can't do much after spending all their money on the track and of course NHRA doesn't have any control ( or cares ) about the sportsman pits. But then again the engine builders are happy.

With all due respect, When the ANGEL FAMILY can start to control the WIND and RAIN during an event I'll be real impressed. I was there and it was annoying , so i wiped my cars off alot. Some people see the negative in all things, some enjoy eating donuts while others complain about the hole.

The Angel family always treats the racers the best you can expect. The parking is some of the best that I have seen at any track. They can't contol the dust. When it rained several inches a few years back they tried to add crushed pavement to improve things but it was just too wet. They paid to have us pulled out after it dried and the guy doing the pulling did a great job. At other tracks, no need to name names, they would not even bring in gravel and we drove through the mud to get out of the pits.
Sometimes we racers can expect too much.
