Default 327/275hp

Having some trouble understanding which carbs are legal for the 327/275 combo in a super stock 1966-67 chevy II. Also where is the wheelbase specification located in the guides? Is it the number that is listed just after the different models? Thanks.

Yep on WB 110 for 66 & 67
Looks like the 66 is listed with a Holley and has a Carter and Q jet as optional
1967 is listed with Q jet only with some optional part number Q-jets

1966
275 327 10.25 1-4 Holl R-3123A/SM, 3230A/PG, 3872783 1.50 H 57.5 8,17
8 Alt carbs - Cart AVS-4027S/SM 4028S/PG Roch 4MV-7026203/SM 7026202/PG
Carb sizes = Holl 1500x1500/1187/1250 Cart 1562x1686/1250xAV Roch 1375x2250/1093xAV
17 Alt manifold – 3875954 = Roch Qjet; 3872783 = Holley & Carter carburetor, 3860384, 3905393, 3919803

1967
275 327 10.00 1-4 Roch 4MV-7027213/SM 7027212/AUTO 3905393 1.50 H 57.5 9,17
9 - Alt carb-7027313/SM 7027312/AUTO Carb size-1375x2250/1093xAV
17 - Alt manifold - 3919803,3860384,3872783,3875954
Looks like there are some manifold numbers mixed up between the two years. How does a Q jet fit on a Holley manifold? Hummm!! The way I'm reading that something is wrong or I can't follow it. If I was familar with the manifolds I might follow it. OOPS!! I almost said "Follow their Logic" Now that would have been funny.
Looks like the Q-jet is bigger than the small Carter & Holley in 66. Same size Q-jet in both 66 and 67. Q-jet only in 67.

Thanks for the reply Adger. So if using a Q-Jet does it have to be the correct part #, or just the correct size, or both? Would the carb be interchangable with a 66 or 67 as long as the size is correct? How does NHRA measure the size? Sorry for all the ?s.

Darrin I run a 207 Q-Jet. If you have any questions about the Q-jet call Dean Oliver. He did my carb. He is the man. He can tell you anything you need to know about it. We run a Victor E manifold with a 2" spacer and an adapter to mount the Q-Jet to that spacer. Standard set up. That car of yours belongs in SS. Ed

Bore size is all that is checked. I'm pretty sure numbers are not an issue any more on carbs. I've had Wesley check mine a few times and he does it a little different, some times. He uses the points of the calipers on the bore at the throttle shaft. (Better watch, they wear there... I've seen atleast one Comp guy tossed because of the bore being worn past the size limit at that point) Then he has had a go/no go tool he dropped in the main body. He has also used dividers to measure the main body, in several places. One time He had me pull the base plate and measured from the back side of the booster to see if I had oval shaped the bore. Good Tech guys don't miss too much. :~) Sometimes it is safe to get checked beforehand and sealed. Saves you that big OOOPS!
It looks like the Q-jet is listed with the same bore sizes for 66 &67 so it should be the same carb for both years.
