OK, if we decide to pursue this 1994 Lincoln, some questions here. These newer cars are a brave new world to me. I know you can do the usual things, unhook things that aren't needed like the AC,air pumps and such. What else can I do? For NHRA stock, can I change things like MAF or MAPP sensors (forgive me I at present don't know what all this car has). What about fuel injectors, do they have to be stock or can these be changed out?
What about running these cars with open headers, do you need to weld bungs onto the downpipes for O2 sensors? Or can these be eliminated altogether? I know I'm going to need some kind of controler and a laptop, the computer I have, the controler we are already looking at. I also know, if we can get thing to run competitively. I'll need some way to do a fuel check. How do I set this up? This is just a start. Something else, I haven't been a member of NHRA since about 1989. What's it cost to join now, about $70 or so? I imagine a competition number is about the same?
