Default Div. 1 "Dutch Classic" question?

What year did they have to finish it in November? It was in the last 7 or 8 years I think? Might have been a one-day wrap-up on a Saturday? Memory not too good here...I recall a fairly windy & cold day..and that '62 'Vette E or F stock running 10.70's/.80's.....Maybe you were there?

I was there and I'd guess it was 2004.

I won the first rd (S/C) at the original event and it went to about Nov 4th for the continuation.

I hurt an engine a week or two before the rescheduled event......Got one together and running....No runs on it......

Drove thru snow showers in Kutztown....It was a white out for a few minutes and I was thinking this was insane.......

Temp was maybe 30-32 when I got to the track.....Sun was out and it warmed up but was still no more than low 50's at best.....

Went 8.90 on my time shot and again in the first round ( actual second rd.).....only problem was I was red by a couple thou......
A very memorable series of events for me so it was easy to remember.....

I believe the Vette in question would probably be the Abazzias.

2002 was the year. I won first round. It was re-scheduled for the Satuday of our annual S/SS race at Hagerstown MD. The Dutch finished up on Saturday. Billy Nees (who won Stock at the Dutch), Jeff Jewell and myself drove to H-town Saturday night and ran my race on Sunday. And yes, the Saturday make-up was COLD! Billy had snow in the bed of his truck, driving down from northcentral PA.

Thanks to all...gee Mike, I don't think it was that long ago but conditions sound familiar. Yes Stefan, that's the Vette, and Rich, 2004 might be it, but maybe 2002? Anyway, that's the last time I went, got to get "out" more often.... Tough way to end your day Rich, after all that 'thrashin!'

Yes it was 2002, that was my first time running the Dutch. I recall losing to Billy 3rd rd but was glad to see he'd end up winning it.

In 2004, the race was postponed. We ran 3 or 4 rounds into the late evening at the Grove when they pulled the plug. The race was resumed the following weekend at Atco after the points race was completed. I wound up winning the Dutch that year.

Remember being at the 'Grove, cold & windy sounds right, Sat. wrap-up, don't recall who won, Nov.4 sounds about right too? Maybe it was 2002, wow?

Fast forward to 2011...I know it's a bit premature...but I wonder how this "extra" moisture in the Northeast will impact racing there for the final 7 weeks or so. Might be more storms coming....Track needs time to DRAIN!
