Default Super Stock at Dinwiddie Div 1 ran 1/8th mile

Did anyone notice we (SS) ran 1/8th mile at the division 1 opener at Virginia last weekend?
High winds on sunday forced Division director (Bob Lang) to meet with each class individually and poll them on wether to run 1/8th mile, 1/4 mile, or at a later date.
SS racers voted to run to the 1/8th mile mark.
I think this was a first for D1....... anyone else remember 1/8th mile points meets in NHRA?

Personnaly, I'm glad we got it over with and did not have to go back later.

Thanks to Mr. Lang for getting us down the track.

Tom, Good to see you have a Division Director with common sense.
I sure am having fun with Bob's old car, once it stop spitting parts out. Hope I can make it back to Indy this year. Wayne

I think Bob Lang did a great job considering the conditions we had to race in, and talking with the racers about it was first rate. I personally was asked politely at the scales after the semis if it was possible to hot lap my car. What a nice relationship with NHRA this weekend. Congrats to the Div 1 officials for making it happen. Also was great to see Curt back.

Hi Wayne

Good to hear from you.
Yes.... our DD did make a good decision to help the racers involved.

By the way.... how about having Don Little build you one of those 383's (he's running). That sucker should go 8.90's in GT/AA in your sebring!!!!
That'll shake up the troops!

Good luck this year

Tom,

Funny you should mention that. Stevie Wann was talking with me about putting his drive line in for the same reasons. But then what would I do with all of these kick *** 318's???

This must be the official GT/HA thread. I don't know Joe Franco but his 10.04 sure got my attention. The best I could go last weekend , at Fontana, was a 10.28 @ 131.50 ....2,500'.

Good luck to you this year, also.

Wayne
