Default Stamped rockers?

Have any of you that have used stamped rocker arms. Had them wipeout on the valve tip side?
What are the causes (other than lack of oil) ?
I'm using a cam that is much bigger than a stock cam. And I destroyed 12 out of 16 rockers

Art First off find the post I put on here about the blends of Mobil One the new oils don't not have enough of additives for flat tappet cams and followers. If you lookat the Mobil web site you will find their blends with the extra additives. Look at. The Porsche special blends they have the extra, Porsche is one if the few that still use directing acting followers (no roller finger followers). My first guess is that you lave a lube issue could have started at break in

Yes, I have. Come to find out it was the rockers. They were suppose to be the "all high mighty nitro" rocker which (no names) one of the cam manufactures sells. Chinese steel junk.
I found a set of OEM and did hardness testing against the Chinese rockers. WORLD of difference. I suggest checking hardness. Should be at least 40-45 on rockwell C scale.

Art,
Just a guess here, but the new bigger cam had a smaller base circle/root diameter and it moved the lifter pivot point and the valve end lost it's rolling couple. It started sliding across the valve instead of making a roll across as it lifted. I would venture to guess your rockers on the bigger lift lobe had the most wear.. In the past I did a lot of the 2300 Ford ohc 4 cylinders and if you didn't get the rocker set up right it would do bad things to the valve gear as well as not run very well. Put that other head together with the older/smaller cams. Sorry I missed your call this afternoon. I'll try to get you in the morning.
