Ken Montgomery recovering from heart surgery
Borrowed from another mesage board:
"Ken Montgomery has been my friend for almost 60 years. We grew up in the same town, went to the same church, and the same high school. We even were in the same auto shop class although Ken was a senior when I was a sophmore. Ken is a life long drag racer, from altereds and roadsters in the fifties to factory hot rods in later years. Except for one year in pro stock Ken mostly raced SS/A and SS/B with his 426 Hemi, four speed 65 Belvedere. Ken won Super Stock Eliminator at the 71 Summernationals, 73 Gatornationals, and 1999 Keystone Nationals shifting a 4 speed in his "Tripple Nickel" - # 555 Plymouth. I couldn't tell you how many NHRA class wins or private races he has won, there are too many to mention.
Ken has been dealing with heart problems for a few years now. We almost lost him a couple years ago but his life was saved by Abington Hospital, but not without complications. This past Sunday, Ken and his family flew to Houstin Texas, for Ken to have open heart surgery. No one in this area would perform the operation because of the high risk. So the flight to Texas was a do or die situation.
I talked to Ken on Saturday and he was optimistic and ready to go. I told him I would pray and I did just that at Mass on Sunday. I just got word that he is in recovery after the many hours of surgery. He is in an induced sleep but has opened his eyes and acknowledged his wife Angie. WOW is that good news or what?!!! Prayers WORK !!! But more are needed for him to recover from this massive operation, so your prayers are being requested. Thanks in advance Goldy"
