This past weekend i took my camaro out for the 1st time since it has been put together.....
70 camaro @ 3300 lbs w/driver.............. it has a superstock 350/290 69 camaro legal ss short block, along with an 850 quick fuel carb and a set of (out of the box) pro-comp allum heads........538 gears and 180 p/g..... best run ( 1/8 mile ) was 6.82 @99 mph........... what puzzles me is it had a 1.39 sixty foot time...... i found a problem w/ fuel pressure as at times it was pegging the fuelpressure gauge that was set at 71/2 lbs.......i could see the gauge when it pegged and also could see under scoop and fuel was running out of top of carb...( i know what that meant........ but my question is after i get this fuel regulator changed and it corrects the problem ,what shoud my car run in 1/8 mile with a 1.39 sixty ft ? *****(this car has been on alcohol before i purchased it and probably has killed regulator)..

Danny,,, not sure if this'll help,, could be apples and oranges,, but my '68 Nova, around 3400lbs with me in it, 406/glide/4:88 combo with 10.5x 29.5 tires has a best 60ft. of 1.43, leaving at 3,000 with a transbrake. My 1/8th mile time is 6.52 @ 104, with a 1/4 best run of 10.33 @ 128. I'm thinking I'm overgeared, and I might pick up a little with 4:56s or maybe 4:30s. It looks like you've got a low 10 or high 9 second car there, have fun.

Danny,
I would say thats a pretty good 60 ft time given the combo that you have in the car. I would say you need more gear in the rear. 586. The 180 low is killing you. You need a 198 low gear. The heads are probably quite a bit bigger than the old super stock heads and thats why the converter is not flashing as high. The power range is higher with the aluminum heads. The weather will also effect the 60. Hot and humid the 60 will drop off. Pump up the tires where you get a little bit of spin. if that picks up the 60 and overall et than you need to make some changes
