Aftermarket seats and brakes. A great place to start.

X2, those are the biggest weight losses. Sound deadener and lighter carpet, lots of crap behind the dash.

X2 on the seats/brakes---get a hold of the rule book and read it over about 6 times then set it down and read it again 2-3 times---if it does not need to be in or on the car remove it ---lotsa unneccessarythings there--- take out the carpet remove the backing or find aircraft type carpet extremely liteweight stuff--scrape all the caulking/sealer from the floor pans etc.-- under the dash about 90% of the wiring etc does not need to be in there- AC/heater box ,vents, controls--- wipers---smaller battery---smaller radiator---whatever ya can get away with---HIDEAWAY head lights and mechanism---lotsa weight there

the way I figure ya gotta lose 412 pounds ----ya wanna hit the scale about +10 pounds over yer min to make up for scale differences---class min w/301 is 2800 ---shipping weight for a V8 fbird is 3212 --ya gonna run an auto trans ya get nother 50 pounds if yer overweight but ya gotta weight absolutely no less than 2800 even with the auto trans deal--not sure how stripped down yer car is but remove the p steering and p brake booster f'glass hood some weight there too---lotsa weight to get rid of not sure if with that small a motor ya can get the job done 850 carb wedge heads better be pretty stout too--record holder is 846 index is 950 2010 cobalt little lite car---- I'd think about it might need some more inches

Are you allowed to remove the crash bars in the doors? What about the extra bars in the bumpers?
