Has anyone ever used a carburated Buick V6 turbo in stock? I am already building a car, but the salvage yard here got in a 79 Lesabre Sport Coupe with the 3.8 turbo V6, and on an impluse I bought it to save it from being used as a demo derby car or worse!
Maybe it's worth sitting on for someday? |

I ran a turbo V6 Regal and a turbo V6 Riviera for several years. Both qualified #1 at national meets. You may PM me if you have any specific questions.

Thank you very much Billy and Bob! I am in the midst of a car already, but I may tinker with getting this car running at some point and go from there. I'm just glad I saved it from a worse fate!

It sits at 17.29, which puts in Q. Do you think that V6 would actually haul 3600lbs of Lesabre into the low 13's?
One thing in huge supply around here is carbed V6 Buicks! I have 2 252's, and 2 231's, not counting the 252 being built at present! Looks like the Turbo and n/a 231 is the same for the most part... Damn! I'd better get back to focusing on my GP... |

Just for kicks, would use not use as small a converter behind the turbo (10" vs. 8"), as with running less gear, etc. ?

Turbo's like a load, and compression is not your friend.
