Smile National event registration.

Is there an official waiting list to get on for a national event(stock), if the quota is filled.
Or, do you check into the event registration continually hoping for a vacancy?Would the best time to start looking for a vacancy be at the cut off date?

No official list, just have to keep checking...most withdrawals occur the Sunday or Monday AM prior to the event cutoff. Given the recent weather related disruptions it just makes sense to check the latest weather forecast(?) before making the call.

No waiting list, you have to check to see if someone pulls out. you also have to have at least the same amount of grade points that was in affect when the quota was filled.

I believe it was changed again for this year.
Back to where you have to have at least the same number of grade points as when it originally filled.

You get 1 grade point for each divisional race that you tech into. When a National event opens up for entries, it is first opened for people with 8 or more grade points, each week they drop the required grade points by 1. They want to give the people that support the divisional races first chance to enter. That is why some people aren't able to enter when it first opens, and why sometimes racers can't enter at all, because its a race that may fill up before someone without many grade points is able to enter.

So, National events, are the only ones you have to register for? I assume you can just show up at Divisionals, tech and race? Im new to this whole thing, as well...planning on my first Div 3 race, next April, weather permitting

The Sports Nationals can be entered at the gate without a grade point.
