Default What's the 11.50 class@ Englishtown

Am I seeing correctly on Drag Race Central???Did they contest an 11.50 Index class as part of the National Event? When did they start that?

It was a special promo, so to say. I like the simplicity of the class and thought it was interesting filler however in my opinion in D-1 we already have so many cars at divisionals I can't see it usurping any of the current classes.

SO long as they are all throttle and do not have to do the stop start race set up of 10.90's, bring more racers to the track.

No they don't. We have 10.0, 11.0, 12.0 here in division 2 and the car count has been a joke. To be honest with you, it pisses off a lot of racers because their entry is less, It pays 1000.00 to win, or at least did, and I can remember quite a few races where there weren't but 4 to 6 in each class. Last year at the bristol race, one of the classes only had 2 or 3 cars in it and they were begging people to enter, even going so far as to say once you make it on the ladder, you would be getting your money back because you were in the semi's. It amazes me how many on here hate throttle stop racing, yet its the closest racing on the track, but yet class racers all the time run to 1000'. I do both, and stock and super stock is fun, but yet Super Gas is way more of an adreneline rush.

I don't think it will bring any more racers to the track. they are losing more racers due to cost of entering, low payouts, and lack of track prep more than anything. come on, what do you want to try next, pure stock motorhome? I have a true street car that I could easily run in the no t-stop 11.50 index class. but sit my race car home for that? no thank you. no one said you have to run a throttle stop in any class, several world champs just added weight.
