Belle Rose
The track was pretty good even in the heat. The whole race was constantly evolving around the weather. Ran one round on Saturday, and lucky we did as it stormed early Sunday, but the sun came out, we dodged a few storms and got the race in. The scales were not functioning and at the end of the day Saturday it was announced that any heads up in stock and super stock would be a dial in. Naturally yours truly (after a beverage or two) was incensed. Trey Capps, new Div 4 Director, got the scales fixed even though it was about 3 am when the scale company did it. He did a good job this weekend, and I am giving credit where credit is due. One thing that did arise is that in some past event where the scales failed, NHRA has done this. We offered and had available Sunday morning 3 sets of digital scales to use. I don't know if NHRA would have allowed it. Not a local decision, but from the coast I think. I have an issue with this and will look into it some more. I don't know what would have happened with Comp. But the track was good even with water issues during the race. Got it fixed, rearranged run order to help fix the track, and Cliff, the illustrious Div 4 starter, kept it good till the end. Actually a pretty pleasent guy for a DD. I will look into that too. Lots of tributes and kind remarks about our fallen teamate, Tim Hebert. Greatly appreciated by the family and the entire Southland Dodge team.
