Hey All:
Figured this might be a good place to get some information. I've got an 86 Crown Vic I'm turning into a race car, and need a manual steering box for it - of course they never came with manual steering. In the past I've always been smart enough to use vehicles that came with manual boxes at some point, so I am a little lost. Does anyone have a source for a place that does conversions, or adaptations or any helpful information? Supposedly its a delphi box if that helps. Thanks! Steve |

Check a local autoparts place and have them pull a fox body manual rack and a replacement power rack for your crown vic. compare and measure the differences. Just a thought.

'86 Crown Vics still had gear boxes, r&p didn't come until early 90s.

Yes, mine's definitely steering box.
Retrofitting a R&P might not be too bad, there are for sure enough cop cars in the junkers, assuming of course that the omnipresent mustang parts would fit. |
