Terry's obituary. Very fitting. God Speed my friend.

Terry D Pearson
(March 5, 1950 - August 30, 2013)

Terry D. Pearson, fondly known as “RaceCar”, of Spanish Fort, Alabama, died suddenly on August 30, 2013, after a brief illness. Terry was born to Elaine and Speed Pearson on March 5, 1950, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Upon moving to Fairhope, Alabama, from Rapid City, South Dakota, Terry and Bob Bendik, native of Fairhope and long-time friend, opened what became Bob and Terry’s Auto in 1976. In 1993, Terry moved to Spanish Fort and opened Bay Transmission on the Causeway which is still open today. “RaceCar” was an avid NHRA Super Stock Drag Racer and over the years, has won many races at local tracks but concentrated on the NHRA national circuit where he won multiple points races and national events as well as being Division 4 Champion in 2002. As all racers do, Terry was always diligently working to “pick up another 1/100th of a second” or that extra 10 horsepower or tinkering or building something. He was soft spoken and had a heart as big as the great outdoors. He was kind and thoughtful to one and all. Many have run out of gas in front of Bay Transmission over the years only to have Terry come to the rescue with a gas can!

Terry is survived by his wife, Trisha; his grandmother, Effie Fischer of Mandan, ND; a sister, Cherie (Tom) Freidt of Mandan, ND; a sister, Becky Crapp of Uniontown, PA; three nephews, Tavis Freidt, Michael Crapp and Deron Crapp and one niece, Trisha Freidt, and three great nieces.

He is predeceased by his parents, Elaine and Speed Pearson and sister, Linda.

Memorial services to be held Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. A gathering of friends will follow at Homewood Suites at 29474 North Main Street, Daphne, AL 36526, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to the Baldwin County Humane Society, 306 Magnolia Avenue, Fairhope, AL 36532, www.baldwinhumane.org

Mike, thanks for posting that. I was in Houston this morning and wanted to share the info, but really didn't have time for much else. Tomorrow will be a tough day
