Hey guys, I'm running out of ideas. The retard timing terminals on my box are getting energized as soon as I turn the Ignition on. The terminals are reading 8 volts to ground as soon as I put 12 Volts to IGN. I put a friends box in and it does the same thing. \
If I bench test it. I read 381K Ohms between Ign and all the retard terminals with no wires connected. The 8 Volts is enough to activate the timing if I put a pill in. I have checked grounds and wiring. Any Input is appreciated. Thanks. |

John:
Call me. The AL3 is different than the others and requires the chips be in all the holes. FJ |

FJ is correct. ..If you don't use the retard feature ,you must put zero pills in all the sockets.
I also have the terminals grounded , ....MSD recommends this if there are no pills installed, but I do both in case a pill falls out.

These guys are correct, the 7AL-3 requires zero chips where no function is desired.
