Default Engineers

I think some took what I said about 1320 being an engineer wrong. I work with engineers in my business all the time. I do like to kid a couple of them about like being like Sheldon on Big Bang Therory. They aren't , but I tell them they are. Sorry if I offended anybody. I didn't mean to.

Ed "engine ears" (also called elephant ears) are what we used to bolt in the Hemi on our street race car.

Ed,
Don't be so hard on yourself!
I have been in the engineering field for 37 years and like any other profession, there are good and bad ones.
I know of engineers that don't even know how to change the oil on their cars or even how to replace a belt. Many of them come to me to ask automotive questions about their cars because they know I do my own work and race.
Many times I prefer to use engineering techs in lieu of degreed engineers because the techs are more creative and usually have more hands-on skills and experience.
By the way, there are many Sheldon's in my field and place of employment.

I worked with engineers for my entire 30+ years in the Aerospace industry and my son is a darn good one too...yep, there are some Sheldons...if you've never seen "Dilbert -the Knack" video on youtube it's worth a watch, it is uncanny.

But his company website lists him as "General Superintendent" and that he studied civil engineering in college. That doesn't sound like a full-blown, licensed engineer to me? But the company website probably has it wrong. Like all of us...

Engineer or not, it's obvious 1320 Racer has never worked in the automotive industry or repair field (like many members of this site) and his opinion comes from someone that buys his engines, trans., rears, etc. from a professional.
