Default 2009 Drag Pack at Mecum Auction

Checking Mechum Chicago results and they show a Drag Pack sold for $23.000.00? Can that be right?

Looks to be an "unfinished" 2009 BIW, just as it was delivered to the dealer. Still a lot work to get it race-ready, but I agree, $23,000 did seem a little low.

I'd say more than a little low. I bet the guys who have a bunch of these aren't too happy to see this.

I don't have a bunch, only one and I'm not so happy about it... But, if you watched any of the auction, you saw everything was selling cheap.. Or at least in my opinion... But, this just shows our economy is still in the toilet... Even the "big money" people are still watching their dollars... Cars are still toys and they are not a necessity for life... The just tend to make it more fun.....

I have one as well so I'm in the same boat. Mines about 75% finished but I'm not putting any more money into it. Finincialy it was a bad decision for now. You are right about the economy. No hope for the forseeable future.

You're right,, over the last couple days, watching the auction, I was thinking prices are down a bit also. The Drag Pak was pretty cheap,, made me do a double take. I know theres a ton of work to do to get it track ready, but now would be the right time to jump on it if one is thinking about purchasing this type of car.

I would think you will never find another one that cheap. At that price you could afford to just park it and cover it up. Then wait while the value returns.

I can honestly say if I were there I would have bought it or at least it would have brought more than this...... I really don't need another but at this price it would fit in my garage just fine.....

I ended up watching quite a bit of the auction this weekend. I felt like very few cars went at close to real value. But then again I think the BJ auctions on tv for years sold cars at way past their value a lot of times. That has kind of led to a false idea of what some cars are worth. Staying on topic tho, I was shocked at the 2009 Drag Pack. That was way low IMHO.

Prices seemed to be inconsistent. Is a 1970 GTO drop top worth $100,000.00.? How about a 1969 Trans Am $118,000.00. I have a hard time trying to figure out what these cars will sell for. I think this Drag Pak should not have been offered at tis venue. These people are not in this market for the most part.
