Stick-only race this Saturday, June 28th at Mid America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, IA. I copied and pasted the following from Daniel Cech:

This race is open to any and all Manually shifted Transmission cars and trucks from your occasional Friday night street car to your full on drag car. If you don’t have a stick car and just want to watch the high winding antics that is stick shift racing come on out. Gates open at 3 PM so ...come early get your car tec inspected and be ready for racing. Rules for stick shift challenge Standard transmission only, Lencos OK. Foot operated clutch required. Mechanical shifters only. . No air cylinders allowed. No clutch-turbos. Only full bodied cars and pickups allowed. All cars must pass NHRA, IHRA, and track tech inspection. One burnout across the starting line allowed---inform your opponent. Dry hop should not cross the starting line unless instructed by starting line personnel.). No computer, electronic or air shift allowed. Shifting must be done manually by the driver. No electronic device-throttle stop, delay box, or any other allowed. Practice courtesy staging. You may change your dial in between rounds. Quicker dial in has lane choice. During competition the car committing the first or worst foul is out and the other car is the winner. If the winner has broken (but was staged) it does not have to make the run but must break the beam and may return for the next round. If the winning car is not able to return, BOTH ARE OUT!" Again, gates open at 3pm. The track has new ownership and has made quite a few improvements already this year, so come on out! |
