2015 Factory Stock Showdown Rules


NHRA Technical Department announces rules for the 2015 Factory Stock Showdown. In addition to these rules, the cars must also meet all requirements as outlined in the 2015 NHRA Rulebook. The competition includes entries from two Stock Eliminator classes with each class running as a separate category within Stock Class Eliminations, and a winner being crowned in each. The two winners will then square off for the NHRA Factory Stock Showdown Championship using a handicapped start, based on the quickest run of each class winner. Each of the two class winners will receive the NHRA Class Wally trophy with the run-off winner being crowned the NHRA Factory Stock Showdown Champion. · Index: 9.90

· Supercharged entries only

o Cars with a 2.3L Eaton supercharger must weigh a minimum of 3,300 lbs.

o Cars with a 2.9L Whipple supercharger must weigh a minimum of 3,550 lbs.

FS/X:

· Index: 10.15

· Naturally Aspirated entries only

o Entries with Chevrolet 427/450, Dodge 426/450, and Ford 429/455 must weigh a minimum of 3,350 lbs.

o 2011 Dodge V10 entries must weigh a minimum of 3,425 lbs.
All others entries must weigh a minimum of 3,200 lbs.

It is interesting that the two winners will run for the Championship using a handicapped start, BASED ON THE QUICKEST RUN OF EACH CLASS WINNER. That's a significant change from using the class indexes as was done in the past.
