Default Plastic Tank Radiators

I'm trying to remove as much weight as possible on my modified car. I've done everything that I can to drop weight and now I'm left with the radiator.

I bought a stock replacement aluminum radiator with plastic tanks to replace my all aluminum griffin. The new radiator is about 10 lbs lighter and looks like it will take less water to boot.

The problem is that the plastic tanks and even the core looks scary to me. I know that they are used on everyday street cars without a problem, but what about a wheel standing modified car?

Anyone have experience with these things in Super Stock? My gut tells me not to use it, but maybe I'm over thinking it. I just don't want the thing to disintegrate and spill gallons of water under my tires.

Any help would be appreciated.
