I'm getting around 200 psi at idle in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear and the pressure goes up to 250 off idle. Is that too high?
I had a converter give up on me last fall and I'm trying to figure if it was too much line pressure, or the 1000+ runs that were on the converter? Bill Lent O/SA 3158 |

Converter pressure is about 1/2 of line pressure . If the converter failed because it ballooned, then usually you will see damage on the crank thrust bearing . If the converter has ballooning plates, and is furnace brazed, it should be able to handle over 150 psi @ 7000 rpm .
