Default Tom McEwen

was just coming home from the store and 1070 news announced about the passing of Tom McEwen and did a phone interview with Steve Gibbs. The recognition is way cool.
RIP Mongoose!

R.I.P. Tom. One of the big names in the sport. Snake and Mongoose, what a great show they put on.

One of my heroes, too. I was a kid when the Snake and Mongoose stuff was at its height, and between them, Garlits and the Pro Stock guys, NHRA drag racing was all any American kid cared about. These guys were just men, but to us, they were larger than life. RIP, Tom.

I was maybe 16 the first time I saw them in E-Town back in the day...God the show they put on was unlike anything I had seen to that point and come to think of it might not have yet been surpassed! I had their models on my desk at home and though I loved them both, Tom McEwen's demeanor really resonated with me...another pioneer gone.

Thanks for the legacy, Godspeed MONGOOSE!

Condolences to his family and friends.
Snake/Mongoose rivalry was earliest for me, growing up.
I can`t be sure if they raced at Conn.Dragway.
i just saw a pic in ND of him being on the Legends Tour.
A pioneering racer, for sure.
Godspeed.
