I just picked up a 1974 Duster with a rebuilt /6. Looked at the guide and its 105/135, since 2005. Didn't think this was a viable combo. Anyone run one? How far under the W/ did it go?

Well, smaller bore/longer stroke than my 230/140 chebby. Bigger cam, slightly smaller carb but it's a Holley. Less mechanical compression but (arguably)a better head.
I've gone pretty darned fast with my 230/140 and that's with a Powerglide. I think that a Super Six is better.

I just checked and the 2 bbl get 9 HP more. Not a bad deal for some better weather consistency. Its hard to find reasonable priced low rust Mopars.

It can run the index but it's a horrible combo.

i don't know what it takes to change a 74 into a 73 but I would run it as a 73 318 @ 169 HP or see what it would take to get the 74 318 to 169!

i just went to "old faithful" classracer.com and the 73/74 318 specs are EXACTLY the same. It SHOULD be as easy as a phone call to Pat C. to get the 74 to 169.
I repeat, SHOULD!

Shoulda, coulda, woulda, now that's a challenge. So looking at the same specs, there are (2) 318-2 HP ratings, 150 and 170. Looked at the internal specs and there is no difference that I can find, Typo? Same carb, cam compression....?

I purchased Mike Jeffery's '80 Dodge Diplomat Super 6 powered V/SA 2 years ago. He had gone a second under with the car and held the record several times.
My best was has been -.97 under. The car is a consistent -.70/-.80 under. The car is NHRA rated at 144 HP. Because of extenuating circumstances, I was unable able to make any divisional or national open races in 2018. Hopefully, that will change this year. Thanks #5458 Curt Rees

Phillip knows......He raced one for year. The 2 Brl. is MUCH better combo.
I think he set Nat'l record with 80 Aspen Wagon 225/2 Brl that used to live at my shop some years ago.
