We are here and stacked in line. I think you got parked if you arrived yesterday . They are parking us at 3 this afternoon. So where is a good spot to pit? We haven’t been here but once and that was 13 years ago! We never made a pass down the strip. It rained so much they cancelled the whole race! Anyway we are here!!

The grassy area along fence south side is pretty good, that's they don't let you on concrete. Also great Italian restaurant just down the street.

I’m sure pavement spots are for Alcohol cars & Comp cars.

Lots of pavement here if I remember correctly. We rolled up at 7:45p and they closed the gates at 7. 3rd in line and they said gates open at 9 "maybe earlier".

"They" are expecting 30 F/C and 30 TAD plus that many in Top Dragster and Top Sportsman. WOW this should be one heck of a race. Fuel at the MAPCO is $2.639 with a MAPCO rewards card, credit or cash, a 22# bag of ice is around $5.00 not bad.
A lot of racers had supper at Giuseppe's Pizza last night. Ours was very good and plenty of it and the beer was cold. Jim Roberts gets the hard work award so far. The new disks would not work. Long story short, input shaft twisted and cracked not allowing clutch to work. Installed new part all is well. Time to complete, most of the day and it was hot. Tech and test and tune today and it's supposed to get to the high 90's. The starting line crew has their work cutout for them. Last edited by Larry Hill; 10-03-2019 at 08:32 AM. |

Jim is one of the hardest working racers out there!
