Paul Mayo was killed yesterday while cutting down trees at his Pa. home.
Paul was past div.1 stk champ and ran div.3 when he lived in Colunbus in the 70's. His sister-in-law told me he had cut down 2 trees ,but the 3nd fell and hit him in the head. His wife found him when she returned from town..... we had just talked last month and were friends for a long time.. |

My condolences to you and his family. Good friends are hard to find. I there going to be a fund setup to help his family?

Had the privelege to speak with Mr. Mayo a couple years back. He was one of those that played major influence on my class racing interest. This has been the darkest autumn I can remember. The loss of: Wally, my dad, my neighbors dad, now Paul, all within a couple weeks.

Very sad news that Paul "Poppy" Mayo has passed. He was a major positive influence on me when I was growing up . A class person. He will be sorely missed. God Speed "Poppy".

This is terrible news.Paul was a great guy i had the privilege of meeting when i was young and racing with my Dad. He also offered encouragement to me when my Mom passed away in July of this year. I am at a total loss. Rest In Peace My Friend! If anyone knows of arrangements please post.
