Does anyone know if Peter Biondo took over points lead after this weekend? In stock or superstock.

Updated points are on the NHRA site. He's not currently #1.

By my count from this weekend, no, Peter didn't take over the lead in either.
He improved in both Stk & SS and still has this week in Georgia to improve, but others still have a shot to improve @ Vegas & Pomona,,,,, so it isn't over yet. Tighter yes, over no. It's 9:15PM CST and although NHRA shows points updated as of 10/15, some are and some aren't. It usually takes 24-72 hours for all of the updates to show up. Last week I was checking daily before heading off to Noble and I think it was late Thursday before everybody was up to date, and I could print off a correct points standing sheet. Lots of racers and lots of points, takes awhile to get everyone completed. Patsy Hill has another post that says everyone needs to check their points totals, probably not a bad idea, just to be sure. I have not check S & SS but Comp is all messed up. They have racers with 9 divisionals that only have 7 or 8. They have Lee Zane taking points at the Jeg's race and the Alanta points at the same time on the same day. Division 4 points are not even close to being right.

After reading the "How points are earned" section I'm confused.
For Divisional Points the rule states: "To be eligible for official NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series points and subsequent post-season awards, it is mandatory that a contestant participate at a minimum of three races within their home Division." But I don't see this as a rule for National Points. So my question is: Is "The Terminator" only able to improve on his OD points because he has to count his 3 home division races for National points too or is there a seperate points count that I'm unaware of for National vs Divisional points? Rich, You may only claim 2 OD races from your total of 8

I'm curious about that rule.
I know i've seen in seasons past where someone like biondo, fletcher or one of the traveling hitters used like 4 or 5 OD. Currently David Eaton in comp is claiming 3 outside divisional races. As is Biondo in BOTH classes. |
