Street 427 Ford question

I've got a 427 Ford in a Cobra replica I built a long time ago. Originally it was a 2-4bbl low riser. A while back I put on Edelbrock medium riser aluminum heads and a single 4 intake. Now I am thinking of going back to the 2-4bbl but keeping the heads.
I have heard that the step between the low riser intake and the medium riser heads will not be a big deal. Is this the case or am I asking for drivability issues?
