"It wasn’t too long and I found myself sitting on the floor of the truck with my head on the seat. And it wasn’t even longer when I felt this loud explosion under my butt, whilst the truck came to a complete stop on the side of the road."

Just goes to show you that perfect alignment of ducks, stars or any other component of your program does not guarantee a win ‘cause there’s a Ross out there who's about to have “his” day. Cool stuff.

No good story starts with, "Everything went smoothly"! Great story! Thanks! Reminds me of great times drag racing and even getting to the track!

Great story, John. Anybody that has drag raced for any time at all can surely attest to some of the trials and tribulations while on the road or at the track. Just getting to the track and back is half the battle.

John, your story could have been ten times longer!I have a great story of my first trip there in '77. Will never forget it. (Bill Mitchell, Richie Sullivan, Rick DeLisi, Endres' blower explosion...) But '85 was the best! I'll comment next week after JD's article.

I can't wait for part 2.
I have a similar story, at exit 8A of the Jersey Pike, but without the happy ending. |
