Default A Unique Memory

Here’s where the unique part comes in. ClassRacer.com’s Ken Miele and I have worked together for probably as long as his website has been around.

I have found the more you win, the less people show up for the pic.

I was there with the Dave Schapiro crew and if I recall right the weather turned nasty and the race was run on Monday....

Hung out with "Harry" in the lanes some.....He was so funny !! And went on to win.....No shock there.

Went from beautiful and 80 to rain, wind and cold....I was freezing and wanted to get outta there.

Great story John. It's not how often you win, but who is in the photos with you. That's where the real memories are.

That was a great time, can't believe we were talking about the 30 year anniv. FIVE YEARS AGO already. At that time you "reminded" me it was finished up on Monday! We had a great ride home and of course it all ended 2 months later when Harry climbed the top end guard rail at the finish line in the semis(Etown Points Meet). Imagine him on the brakes!! Thanks John for listing the other winners from that event, some I remembered, some I didn't. It was a mad dash to finish and 'evacuate'. My winners circle pic I've put up on FB and elsewhere shows Johnny Labbous and a 5 year old John Labbous Jr. He would go on to win the Gators 30 years later!!

So you won SG at the 1984 Sportsnationals. Congrats. Maybe you beat me. I lost to a Vega first round. That is also the race I decided I couldn’t figure out how to slow my car down to 9.90 consistently and switched to Comp.

John was a killer in S/G in the Vega. Had RT’s better than most others at the time and was a regular winner. Any trip to the Gators was fun in the sun !
