Default Sloan Racing Engines

I finally added it up...

Tim Sloan at Sloan Racing Engines built my 360 Magnum crate motor in Feb. of last year. On the 4th run on the motor, at Piedmont, I had a 1.455 60' and ran 6.994 at 97.09 mph, 50 degrees out, and a 6 mph tailwind, air around 50' AA.

This weekend, on Sunday at Piedmont, I had a 1.435 60' time. On Saturday, at Pageland Dragway, I ran 6.995, 6.995, 6.996, 7.000, with a 2mph headwind, anywhere from 250' to 639' AA.

In these two seasons, this engine has set three national records, won Class twice, and been in 17 final rounds. In 2006 finished #2 in Div. 9 and 9th in the World, 3rd in Rockingham track points, 2nd in the Summit Super Series at Farmington, in 2007 finished #2 in the World and Div. 2 Champ, Rockingham Champ, 2nd in Summit Super Series at Pageland. This engine currently has over 430 runs on it.

Sloan Racing Engines also virtually swept IHRA Div. 9 Stock this year, with customers in the finals of every event. Scott Macy won the Div. 9 Championship this year with another 360 Magnum, and set records and won Class along the way to finishing 3rd in the World. Jamie Southards also set records, won Class, and finished Top 10 in the World. Sloan also does some of the work for Anthony Bertozzi's Super Stock program. (Although Tim has earned a reputation in the Mopar crowd, he's actually a Chevy guy, be we don't hold it against him)

Thanks for a great, reliable, consistent, and winning piece!

Thanks to Tim Sloan for building such great motors for us! I also want to thank Tim, Sheila, and Hillarey for all the help and hard work they have done for me (and all of their customers) this year! I couldn't do it without you guys!

Yes duck tape boy we all know how great your eng man is, he can bulid a street/crate motor to run 400 to 600 passes that runs .80 to 1.00 under( the bogus crate motor index). And that is fine if you want to run crate motor and IHRA full time. But untill they bulid a real stocker motor that runs .80 after 100 passes us hear on the real side of class racing are not impressed. Myself and other racers will keep using Tri city, parson's, Warren, Wikle, Bub Witt, Kowen and other proven eng buliders that have fast class cars. I'am not saying Mr Sloan can't bulid a fast class winning stocker motor just we havent seen one so far. I'am not talking t/sa class winner but something A/SA-K/SA where you haft to earn your class wins.

What's wrong with T/SA,or any other class winners below A/B/and C cars? The only difference I've seen 9s that some ofthe higher class guys have ego's as big as Dolly Partons you know what.We go fast withou:
Alum. replacement or "Dove" heads
Bogus cam specs and carbeurators
"Paper" combos
$5,000 transmissions
$???? HEADs
Care to add anymore?

Some of us can't afford to run on the budget it takes to run anupper class S/SS car, some of us do well on a limited budget.
BTW Mr. Holmes, what class do you run? You're not the dead porn star are you?

I'am alive and well ED. It's not that T/SA or other slower class are not important( because all NHRA stocker are from V/S to A/SA are, that's what makes us a speical group of people) it's that almost anyone can make a slower class car go real fast with little effort and big money or hard work and little money (Bob shaw, Burt morgan). with faster combos there are almost no class singles and alot more effort is need to win with some combos. Ed not that I really care but how many times have you class singled for a win vs ran someone and won or ran heads up in the race? just asking.

John,

What class do you run? Seems a search on autoimagery.com for your name pulled up no results.
If all you run(or spectate) is NHRA then why do you care? Fast is fast whatever the combination that you use.
If you can build a combination using the same(or simular) parts, and run a couple of seconds faster than it came from the factory you've done something. Who's to say the crate motor indexs are soft? When was the last time you saw a crate motor run 1.40 under the index?

Hey Bobby,
Trust me, it is a waste of your time to bother with people who choose to use bogus names on here. All they do is get unwanted drama stirred up on here and they never say who they are. I have seen it over and over again. I am only concerned that our customers and our future customers are satisfied with their performance. Obviously "Mr. Holmes" is not one of them, nor will he be, so I couldn't care less what he thinks or says.

=)

P.S. My only response to the alleged "Mr. Holmes" is, "Just because I only run around 1 second under does not mean that is all that I got. Feel free to drop in F/CM any time."
