Two years ago I purchased a 2009 Challenger R/T. I drove it for a year as I gathered information. After figuring out
how to actually build one for Stock. I gutted the car to my wife's "Holy Cow" surprise. Yes in my two car garage. That is all I have for a shop. About a year ago, with help from Paul Wong, Mike Blackstone and Diamond piston. A piston was summited for a 345ci street version Hemi. The guys at Diamond called and called. Nothing! To shorten the story the folks at NHRA said they would get to it asap. yeah right! To this date nothing. Plenty of dollars and time later. I built the car and there it sits. Mean while another gentleman has been running this combination for over two years. I was told you can run a OEM, stock bore press on pin piston with a stock bore and a stock rod. That is the only OEM piston available. You buy a left or a right piston with the rod attached. I've been watching this other car run in Division 2, 3 and 4 It has won class and been a number one qualifier and never runs it out. I'm surprised it has stayed under the radar since it can go 10.50's in H/SA. What the ... does it take to do it correctly? I have Mike Blackstone build my engines. He has had the engine for a year taking up space. I get that call once a week! tired of being the nice guy and do it correctly! A little help here. Paul Haszlauer 7019 |

If it was me I would have Diamond make 9 pistons to spec. send one to NHRA and the other 8 would go in the engine.

I look at all the bogus numbers that are in the books on these combinations other than this one. I summit the correct ones to the numbers and it is screwing up the whole platform I think. The stock pin, stock ring, journal sizes. I'm so over this I can't tell you. They questioned the piston from Diamond because it had 2mm rings. Yup! So Chrysler was suppose to send the spec sheet to probably Jeff Connelly. Whether that happened. I'm over it. The excepted crankshaft after I called is a stroked crank to make it a 426. I called Pat. He said it should have been put in there. Probably still there. |

So on the pistons, will Diamond not etch "NHRA" in the piston without acceptance even though they followed spec? Also it need to be said I'm certainly no expert I'm following along here too.
