A local racer wants to convert his 68 Malibu Coupe into a GT/BA using a 454/450 engine ---his car he says weighs 3400 pounds ---what type of power is he going to need to run the index of 9.80 and to run under the index 4-5 tenths??? Is this a "costly" mission or can this be "easily" (LOL) achieved??? Thanx FED 387

I think that would be a cool combo. Something different.
Online calculator says 715 to run the index and 800 to run 40 under.

thats what i thought i read---now you multiply that by 7 or 8 . whatever that number is something and add 175 pounds driver weight to get your car minimum weight correct?
