Go to ignition parameters. Set the box next to fixed ignition timing to whatever you prefer it be checked at (I use 30). Then check the box for fixed timing and click apply. Check your timing and if it doesn’t match move the distributor until it reads 30°. When done deselect the fixed timing box.

And that's the way I read the instructions but it makes no sense to me. The instructions don't say anything about moving the distributer to set the timing.

When getting into computers back in the 90s realized I had to think like the computer my process didn't matter to it. Plus you have to understand what it sees and what it doesn't. The ecu has no way to know what the actual timing is. It goes to the timing map and commands what ever the value is in the cell being used. The timing offset helps get the actual timing close to what the ecu will command after phasing but you still need to match it with a timing light to match what is commanded to the actual value. Have used the same method described above plus check it again after releasing the lock to match what cell is being used live on the laptop.

I don't think that would work, but an MSD Grid might be helpful!
