Yes, they are a problem. A real pain in the A**. Esp when you are hot & sweating. It is hard to get them over my big ears with the helmet on. I usually put the helmet on & leave my glasses off so I can wipe with the face open or use a sweat band. I put my glasses on just as I pull out of the lanes. The closed face helmet saved my face when I had a crash in '99. A piece of guard rail post got in my face & only broke my left eye socket. It could have been much worse with an open face. It would have had a clear shot at my face & neck instead of a glancing blow. Yes, I too have bitched & moaned about all this safety equipment, but IF & WHEN you need it, it is really nice to have.

Paul, I have to wear glasses too, and I have a new Impact ( I bought it 2- 07) helmet that my frames don't dig in to the side of my head. The opening in the Impact is wide enough for that to be comfortable. Look into that. Right now, I don't have the model of helmet, sorry. Its in the car....

I am a confused about the helmet specs. The helmet specs onthe D5 site says visor mandatory and the 2008 Rulebook says allowed. I have a Bell S2R that is very good with glasses and has a larger opening so it is easier to see out of. It does not have a shield. (I guess I don't know exactly what they mean by visor either) If this helmet is allowed, it is an easy one to use with glasses.

I`ve been using the G Force "Force 1" the past year with both cars and like it quite a bit. It doesn`t seem too bad to get my glasses on,and the helmet is pretty reasonable price wise.
