Take a look at the Revised rules for 2008 on NHRA site. Deleted the sentence about maintaining Factory OEM valve angle on both head and valve. No more .250 below valve seat wording either. Looks like Any valve job permitted.....Period!, and you can replace all valve seats. Get out the "bowl hogs" and have at it!!!
Hey Adger, looks like you spent your money wisely. Later RJ |

Thanks RJ,
Well, I feel a little better. It's about time we got the seat deal behind us. Now we can save some of this old iron & not have to pay so much for virgin castings. The collector s are making it toooo expensive on us racers. The seats.. might as well have any V/J. Way too hard to Tech the old way.. Let me be the first to say: shortly there might be another rule updated with "more Correct wording" Just wait & see!

Not that I don't believe you,but where exactly are these rule revisions posted?
The way things are going right now,I'm thinking that INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES may be optional.Jet engines permitted. |

In addition, there is also a picture on the December 14, 2007 issue of ND, page 126.

If you follow the history of the class, most rules get changed because so many people were doing it anyways.I bet there is more than one Stock Eliminator car out there that already has "Any Valve Job" and is ready to go for 2008!
Thanks for posting the link! |

This is an Ave. much traveled by Mike Keener. Right? I want to know when Serated valves, meaning milled patterns on intake valve..which make swirl patterns as YOU want are okay too. can anyone say lifter bores done again and again..etc
