As was probably expected…

It's unfortunate there are not more events but let's be thankful for any at all.

In my humble opinion Class Eliminations events should be without the AHFS restriction and have random teardown to support the integrity of the performance.

I have attended the event at Firebird near Boise, Idaho a few times. I have seen some very close racing that might of had different outcomes with no AHFS. It is always fun watching a Hemi or Max Wedge car go through the traps at Full Tilt Boogie - What a sound.

Just my .02 cents.

Frank, I agree with you. I've heard the driver representatives had proposed Class Eliminations at Gators and Las Vegas, in addition to Indy, would be without the AHFS. Its seems fair to more equitably apply this special consideration around geographically. Many of us on west and east coast are not in a position to go to Indy, with any kind of regularity. Unfortunately, NHRA doesn't seem inclined to help us in this way.

Bit off topic but around 2005 I was running my bracket car at Mission and Dave Wren took a primer 63 out of a moss covered trailer and started up the meanest sounding Max Wedge I?ve ever heard. If he had a roll bar in the car they might not have warned him to not go faster than 11:50?s LOL. But yes, just spectating at Indy for Class makes the trip worthwhile.

The best cylinder block we ever had was a AAQA. The thrust numbers were exceptional. Man, that thing made power.

All those on the East Coast who want to run class without AFHS need to make the trek up to the Dutch this year. And unless weather comes into play and schedules get altered, the eliminator is a 1/4 mile open so no AFHS applies to that either.

And while you are there you can set the record!
