Default Re: Carb question

The carb I'm using was origanally built by APD. The biggest problem I had with it when I got it was the idle was inconsistant and didn't seem consistant on the stop. One thing that APD believes in is being lean on the stop and so they do not put an intermidiant air bleed in the carb. I had to go way smaller on the idle air bleed and also put intermediant air bleeds back into the carb. Thats not how they like to see them, but with the vacuum signal thru my heads and intake, their way just didn't work on my car. After the changes, The car picked up quite a bit of HP and became much more consistant. I run a 557 with C460 heads. I just came back from Charlotte, and was consistantly over 170 in very bad air and strong winds. Most every one there was between 2 and 4 mph down from what they normally are able to run
