Carl, you're correct on the lifter clearance with Comp 819 lifters......Usually .003"+ clearance on a stock block.
The Comp 819's are really good for the money ,but I'd definately have the bores trued oversize for either .874" or .904" I recently changed a set of Morells and found the circlip groove was chipping away on several lifters. ....First time I've seen it happen on them. I have a set of Comp Elite lifters for a Comp engine I'm doing, very nice pieces with extreemly large axles that are double pinned in place.
