Smile Re: Dual caliper rear brakes

Several years back I put aerospace disc brakes on our Nova. I went with dual calipers on the back for more holding power when staging. It was the best thing I ever did. The car went from really having to push the brake pedal hard to stage at 3000 to where with just a little pressure on the pedal I can take It up as high as I dare without it trying to creep at all. The only problem I then had was that the master cylinder didn't have enough volume to have a good pedal on the first pump.I fixed most of the problem by going to a big bore (11/8) master cylinder. It then had good brakes on the first pump but It was still about 3/4 of the way down. ( Not good for finish line braking) I finally put a 2lb residual valve in the brake line going to the back brakes and now I have a pedal nice and high. The back discs don't seem to have any more drag than they had before. Hope this might help someone. Bill
