At the World Finals in 1971 after every qualifying attempt I was weighed and they checked the fuel even though I wasn't going quick enough to qualify. I finally asked why and they said I was going over the MPH record. The et slip said it was a little over 116 but at sea level it was 121.39 for a new record. Just curious how did they used to get through events in a weekend? Didn't they used to get 128+ cars in each category?
