The pictured car belongs to a friend of mine. It is a 413 Max Wedge with the lower compression 11:1 Engine.
It carried a factory rating of 410 HP..... It is currently factored at 395 HP and although it was just built it has run 1.0 plus under. The owner also runs a 66 Dodge Hemi Stocker and has cleaned my clock numerous times at both National and Divisionals!

Thanks for the information, John! That's a fitting "sister car" to the D Stock Automatic car of Bennett/Widuch!

The first GatorNationals in 1970 was won by a '62 Plymouth 383/343. Tommy Callahan drove it & Frank Sulc was his partner. The car was called the Villain........I always liked the car......

Joe Kenney also ran a '62 Plymouth wagon at that time. It was called the "Trick Tank".......Joe was a good guy and liked to have fun. I can recall drinking a couple beers at the "beer stand" with him at Sanair.......Yes they sold beer in the pits and by the case! They also had a bar in the tower......

Thumbs up Re: Another cool stocker!

There are a couple more 343 hp. 62 Plymouths that have been running NHRA even before the Bennett D/SA.
Logan Wernet E/SA in div.5 and Dan Walcott E/SA in div. 3

I didnt mean anything by pointing it out but the Plymouth wouldnt make the 10.5 lb class even as a 3 passenger Fury. It was to lite and they were still rated at 343 HP back in the day plus running the wt. where they fell in the guide. . . The Dodge had to be a 9 passenger (3 seater like the Behemouth) to make the class. This was when you were not allowed to adjust your wt. and had to run the class where it fell in the class guide. Troxells old Plymouth wagon (before the Oldsmobiles) ran a class higher than Joe. Its confusing now to remember now that we can adjust the wt. up and down the natural class.

barrel carbs in E/SA back in the day out here on the west coast?
