Thanks for the info. So is the procedure to pre-stage, press the brake pedal to a given pressure, engage a 2-step set at an RPM low enough to be able to go WOT off the line? I see a lot of stock elim cars bouncing back and forth during the staging process, but they seem to leave against the 2-step.

You do not want more brake on the rear than the front. Good way to swap ends if you have to lock them up. I have single Aerospace calipers all the way around. I can stall it well over 3000 RPM with the foot brake with no problems. You may have the wrong master cylinder, or wrong pedal ratio.

Thanks Ed ................good input. My experience has been in SS so leave off the tranny brake and let her eat. Now with getting back into stock eliminator need to learn new ways of staging/leaving.

Just bought his master cylinder kit and firewall brace for my model car, and followed the enclosed instructions for re-drilling my pedal.

Maybe I am missing something, but if you are using a LL it is only active for the front brakes and staging the car. What would it matter if you had 8 rear caliper brakes on the rear? Just a curious 3 pedal racer.

whoooooaaa! i get it. forget i said anything.
i thought the new craze of 6 and 8 piston calipers where for down the top end.....but not so much it seems. i want to try this now, damn snow....i can bring the rpm up to 4800 now, should able to hit mid 5k with more brake. i still only launch at 3400 during the bracket race, but qualifying would be more fun! Several years back I put aerospace disc brakes on our Nova. I went with dual calipers on the back for more holding power when staging. It was the best thing I ever did. The car went from really having to push the brake pedal hard to stage at 3000 to where with just a little pressure on the pedal I can take It up as high as I dare without it trying to creep at all. The only problem I then had was that the master cylinder didn't have enough volume to have a good pedal on the first pump.I fixed most of the problem by going to a big bore (11/8) master cylinder. It then had good brakes on the first pump but It was still about 3/4 of the way down. ( Not good for finish line braking) I finally put a 2lb residual valve in the brake line going to the back brakes and now I have a pedal nice and high. The back discs don't seem to have any more drag than they had before. Hope this might help someone. Bill
