In Super Stock, GT or conventional, there is no rule requiring the use of a rear end from the same manufacturer.

You are correct. I was thinking about cross over of Mopar/AMC parts in general such as in Stock.

I'm curious how a Vega with a 6.2 LS fits GT/EA and not GT/AA ? 3900lb Vega or do they rate the 6.2 about the same as an old 283?

6.2 LS is rated at 365hp in SS. So that would put it at 3090# to run GT/EA.

The shipping weight for a 1971 Vega is ~2433 (including the driver) but how much do you add with just the V8 engine alone? Remember they removed the rule limiting how much weight can be removed/added in GT classes.

Vega is a 5.7 LS1 combo, not the 6.2.

Interesting...thanks. In that case the math makes a little more sense - 313HP GT factor x 8.00 lbs/HP + 170 lbs. = 2674 lbs. minimum for GT/EA.
