As a purely hypothetical example could you claim your car is a 1971 or 1972 body, install a 1970 Olds engine and then claim it to be a "GT" class car in Super Stock?

I know there are some sharp racers out there that just with a carb change they can move from traditional SS to GT.

That's more what I was referring too. I don't know the differences between Dayrl's 1970 and a 71/72, but was thinking someone claiming it as a 70 Body with a 71 low compression engine and you have a GT yet it could also be run as a real SS by just claiming it is a '71. Guess it wouldn't work with early 67/68 Camaro's because of the vent window and 69's being a one off body style. Thanks for the information.

One would think that's how it's supposed to work but not anymore. 66 Chevy II's running SS/J or SS/K or GT/M Can't claim a 67 ..No 4 bbl 283's... 65? Different body. Nobody cares much anymore ..Least of all NHRA tech. Get your 8 gp's..Get in line..Fight to get in Indy...That's it folks...Slippin' away.
