I also thought your car was for sale, are you lobbying for a rule change right before you retire?
Yes bought two sets. One set lasted 2 runs. Other 20 minutes on dyno. Yes, my car is for sale. Didn't say I was getting out of racing. I said I had thought about it but just like every other idiot that is racing, I'm hooked.
OH, and Yes I am getting older by the hour and would really like to race ( a little) instead of constantly searching, researching and waiting months for parts. The wait for parts has really gotten out of hand. No body stocks anything.

Unless you bought some crap lifter, or your lifters had a defect, I would be looking at other things. Wiping out 2 cams in that period of time appears you may something else going on. My son bought a set of Clay Smith made in USA lifters for his 350 300hp combo, which they claim are the original Johnson Lifters, broke them in with just the outers, and has had no problems this year.

Duane, your son is a good kid, and he is learning to run Stock the right way. Like most of old timers did. Buy what you can afford to and work on your car yourself and see how fast you can make it run. I would assume he has a mild cam compared to what's out there today. The problem with running a car in a popular class that way you won't survive to many heads-up races. For me it cost too much in time and money to attend these races and I don't wish to bring a knife to a gun fight. Although it will never happen, I would be in favor of bringing the duration rule back. Would save a lot of motors. I bet not many running Stock would even know how to check duration. BP

Now THAT's some funny stuff right there! Barry, if you've been around long enough to remember the "duration rule" then you must obviously remember the camshafts (and camshaft companies) that rule spawned. It sure would be nice to have some kind of a valve spring rule even though with the springs available today it probably wouldn't mean much.

Yes, Doug IS a good young man. I just hope that we (collectively) don't ruin him.

Little difference in Valves and springs in these combinations might be a point also.
