There was a guy named Everett Hatch from (Portland?) Oregon who ran a '56 Packard Clipper in D Gas with a Carribean twin four barrel manifold, and he and his car were featured in Hot Rod magazine back in the late '50s, because his car was very fast, for its class. I think it may have held the D Gas national record for an extended amount of time.
Additionally, there was some guy from Indianapolis who had a '56 Golden Hawk (the one with the Packard 352 motor) who put a GMC-6:71 on it and ran A Gas Supercharged for awhile. A buddy of mine almost bought that car in about 1959. Can't remember his name, but it was something funny like "Casey Jones," or such.
