Here's an answer for you:

I was at the Ennis NHRA Points Race about three weeks ago, and at least ONE, but maybe BOTH of the 2008 CJ Mustangs broke 140mph in qualifying. It was on the qualifying printout from the tower that the DRAW booth sells to racers.

never seen MPH posted on qualifying sheets before, only the top speed MPH for the round.

That is where it was posted on the top of the qualifying sheet as the top MPH. Also, many saw the 140+ on the scoreboards.

Jimmy and Chad Holzman debuted their new Cobra Jets at the Ennis points meet a couple of weeks ago. On the DRC website it showed Jimmy Holzman running 140.17; to the best of my knowledge, that was the first Stocker run over 140. Hope this info helps.

This still dose not answer the question at the start of this thread, best MPH by non CJ. Someone that has the Atco sheet check who had the best MPH at that race. Dempsy Pendavis went fast at pinks race but who knows what his real weight was.
