What grade of Sunoco to use in place of VP C-11?

This fuel stuff is crazy. I've had the opposite happen to me. I have had problems getting sunoco-purple to check. My father has also had the same issues with Sunoco-Purple. We run VP C11 in both cars and they check fine now. I don't know if this has to do with where I get the Sunoco? I didn't pass fuel check at the National Event in Reading. I could not purchase any Sunoco there so my only option was to switch the car over to VP. I'm happy with the VP, but it definetly is alot more pricey than the Sunoco.

That's very likely the culprit. I've never had problems with fuel check.

We've also done the swap from C-11 to Sunoco Blue... same deal, car didn't care.

For best results, though, when making *any* change, you should do some A-B-A testing to find out what *your* particular car likes.

Michael,

It prob does have to do with where I get it. We have run both fuels on the dyno and in the car. The dyno showed VP to make a slight horsepower increase, but back to back runs on the track showed very little difference at all. Not sure what I should do over the offseason? The main reason we have run VP is that we haven't had a problem in fuel check. I'm confused to say the least! lol!

Get your Sunoco by the drum and then you won't have to wonder where it came from or what a place cleans its tanks with. I get mine from Bearden Oil.

Had the same problems with Sunoco........went to c-12 and had no issues and the car ran the same.
